J Josephson is Hiring an Utility Worker Near South Hackensack, NJ

Position: Utility Worker

Reporting to: Production Manager

Department: Production

Summary: Assist with set up, operation and support of machines to produce, trim and package rolls of vinyl wallcovering. Relieve Assistant and Operator as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Push buttons, turn handles or move controls and levers to start and control machines
  • Adjust machine components according to specifications such as widths, lengths and thickness of paper and amounts of adhesive required
  • Align and position materials being joined to ensure accurate application of adhesive and/or heat sealing 
  • Splice rolls of vinyl together, using tape
  • Mount or load paper rolls in feeding mechanisms and monitor feeding of material to maintain specific operating levels; make necessary changes or adjustments
  • Observe gauges, meters, and control panels to monitor operation of machinery
  • Record required data, such as orders printed, production times, stock specifications and other information
  • Examine orders to verify quality, making appropriate adjustments
  • Remove and stack completed materials 
  • Follow instructions of Assistant/Operator
