Summary

Mackenthun's Donut Fryer is responsible for quickly and efficiently preparing deep-fried bakery products that meet Mackenthun's quality standards.

Mackenthun's Donut Fryers promote Mackenthun's Exceptional Experience by greeting every customer with a smile and assist customers with questions about Mackenthun's, Mackenthun's Bakery and Bakery products.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

- Mackenthun's Donut Fryer is expected to deep-fry and finish (ie. coat or frost) cake donuts and donut holes, old-fashioned, and yeast-raised sweet rolls.

- Monitor inventory and assist in ordering ingredients.

- Fill customer orders and keep Bakery shelves and the donut case clean and fully stocked.

- Clean work areas, bakery shelving and displays, wash dishes and practice proper safe-handling of food products and personal safety.

- Maintain proper sanitation and safety in the department at all times.

Other Duties

- Help with selling events.

- Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications

- Minimum High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

- Must be skilled in basic math.

- Donut frying experience is desired, but not required.

- Must be able to clearly speak, read and write English language. 

- Must be able to respectfully and professionally communicate with managers, co-workers and customers.

- Be a positive, creative trend setter with excellent customer service, problem solving, and decision-making skills.

- Must be honest and dependable, able to work independently and as a team member.

- Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. 

- Have an interest in selling food and a desire to learn the characteristics and qualities of the products and services Mackenthun’s has to offer, in particular Mackenthun’s Signature Items.

- Provide supervision as needed to ensure excellent customer service and personal productivity.

- Minimize department losses due to improper product handling, storage, damage and spoils.

- Perform duties in a manner that safeguards company equipment, resources and image.

Physical Demands

- Constant standing/walking/talking/hearing/seeing/ready to respond to department needs at any time during work shift.

- Frequent repetitive motions, bending at the waist, reaching arm's length/above shoulders/below waist, crouching stooping, kneeling, climbing stairs and lifting 60 lbs. and pushing/pulling up to 1500 lbs. with use of pallet jack.

- Position requires close/distance/peripheral vision, depth perception and color vision.

Training

- Trained in Mackenthun's Bakery standards and processes, Food Safety, Personal Safety, Harassment Prevention, and hands-on training in frying procedures and Mackenthun's product line.

Baler, Bread Slicer, Candy Cooker, Compactor, Fryer, Fryer Filter, Heavy Lifting, Icing Table, Ladder, Lift Truck, Mixer, Ovens, Pallet Jack, Sinks, Steam Table, Walk-in Coolers, Walk-in Freezers, Wrapper/Sealer, Dishwasher. (Age Restrictions Apply)

Work Environment

- Indoor, smoke-free facility in a team oriented, multi-faceted and fast-paced environment. 

- Frequently work in warm/hot temperature in a small area while frying. 

- Occasional work in a cooler or freezer.

- Exposure to cleaning chemicals.
