SUMMER INTERN - SHEA HOMES HOUSTON
DEPARTMENT:Sales and Marketing
REPORTING:This position reports directly to the VP of Sales & Marketing and Human Resources.
Job Description:
As an intern, you will gain experience with all that is involved with new homes sales at Shea Homes Houston. This opportunity will provide exposure to many of the stages in the home sales and marketing process, such as model presentation, creating marketing material, greeting potential homeowners, sales strategies, realtor event planning and execution, plus budgeting, and scheduling. You will also be exposed to our Operations, Warranty, Human Resources, and Sales Administration departments, which all work alongside the Sales team.
As an Intern, you will be representing Shea Homes daily.To do this, you are expected to communicate clearly and politely to all potential home buyers and both internal and external customers, remembering that body language can speak louder than words.Plus dress the part, dress every day professionally, clean, and sharp! Come to work every day on time and eager to give 110% to learning more about Shea Homes Houston and giving all you can to ensure your internship make a difference.

Your Qualifications:
Qualified candidates are ideally enrolled in an undergraduate Administrative, Accounting, Marketing, Engineering, Real Estate Development, or related program. Prior construction-related internships or work experience is beneficial, but not required. The ideal candidate would have:

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand, sit, bend, walk, talk, and hear. The associate must occasionally lift and/or move up to approximately 25 pounds. The noise level in the office work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
If on the jobsite, caution should be taken to avoid noise levels. When necessary able to drive to Shea Homes community sites and other locations as necessary to perform duties as assigned. Must be able to walk-in all-weather conditions on uneven terrain of jobsites, on varying construction surfaces, and climb stairs.
