POSITION SUMMARY:

The position of Sales Apprentice is a vehicle for becoming indoctrinated with Gould Solenoid Valves. You will learn the many facets of making Solenoid Valves, applying Solenoid Valves, and the different Supply Channels for Gould Solenoid Valves.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Exposure to all facets of manufacturing Gould Solenoid Valves, gaining the ability to assemble and troubleshoot the valves.

Learn about fellow employees and how their jobs fit into the production process of the Gould Solenoid Valves.

Be able to communicate with a wide array of people from very simple explanations to the most technical presentations.

This would include the ability to "read" people and situations and react accordingly.

Be able to troubleshoot customer problems or complaints, using expert product knowledge, typical malfunctions and tried service procedures and practices. Resolve customer complaints in a timely manner.

Know the Gould Solenoid Valve product line extensively and analyze uses by industry and geographically.

Adept at using Traverse and Microsoft Office 365 software for various sales analysis reporting and functions.

Assist customers in product applications and take orders for products.

Furnish product quotations to customers which include price, delivery and quotation validity period.

Learn methods for "sizing" a valve for an application .

Responsible for maintaining and following quality guidelines and standard operating procedures

Receive quality issues and take appropriate remedial action. Direct corrective action(s).

Maintain necessary records and follows all prescribed safety rules and regulations

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work closely with customers, management and fellow employees to keep an "open line" of communications.

Monitor and respond to customer concerns about unresolved or unusual issues.

Maintain and protect all corporate assets under your control while fostering loss prevention awareness.

Assist in other duties or projects on a companywide basis

J. D. Gould Company, Inc.'s MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION EXPERIENCE:

Prior sales experience is appreciated but not necessary

Basic knowledge of mechanical components and operations

College degree or Trade School in a related field.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS ABILITIES:

Strong verbal, written, mechanical, analytical and interpersonal skills.

Have a good command of the English language

Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines

Ability to solve problems

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
