This position will be a senior project engineer position to support our planning and design group. Work will include Phase I and Phase II design for various clients and coordination with design team members. Work may include civil design, alternative studies, ITS design support, lighting design support, cost estimating, developing special provisions, and QAQC. The position will be based out of Lisle, Illinois office with flexibility to work remote and minimal travel to project sites or industry events.

Duties and Responsibilities  

• Oversee and coordinate all technical aspects of a project, including contract submission, designs, and data collection and analysis. Advise and provide suggestions as applicable
• Review project plans, specifications, and estimates and suggest updates or maintain changes as needed
• Responsible for performing complex technical assignments throughout assigned projects, including performing and verifying engineering calculations
• Prepare and distribute technical specifications
• Work within the timeline and budget for projects
• Delegate and oversee tasks to design team members
• Act as the point person for the project
• Perform overall quality control of the work and regularly report on project status
• Interact with the clients as needed
• Maintain project integrity and reputation through compliance with client regulations
• Cooperate and communicate effectively with team members to provide assistance and support
• Perform other duties as required/directed

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering
• Professional Engineer license required
• 10 years of relevant experience
• Experience in Phase I and Phase II civil design is preferred
• Previous experience working with Bentley design products preferred
• Must have a clear analytical approach to problem-solving and strong decision-making abilities
• Must work well in a fast-paced environment and be able to handle multiple tasks at a time
• Must be knowledgeable with rules, regulations, best practices and performance standards
