Our large manufacturing client located in Rapid City, South Dakota, is looking for a Mechanical Drafter, to add to their team.
Position's Contributions to Work Group:
Job Responsibilities:
Create and/or modify 3D models and engineering drawings in conformance to our client's engineering standards and specifications for use in manufacturing.
- Assist engineers in troubleshooting designs
- Interface with engineers and peers as necessary to ensure all facets of project's scope are met.
- Complete projects in a timely manner to meet customer due dates.
- Communicate with Team lead daily on project status, delays and issues encountered.
Typical task breakdown:
- Works closely with team lead to identify projects, review questions, discuss projects updates
Interaction with team:
- Employees will collaborate with team members on a daily basis to share best practices, trouble shoot problems, discuss project scope questions
Work environment:
Fast paced, supportive teamwork environment that promotes peer collaboration
Education & Experience Required:
- 2 year technical school degree in computer aided drafting program or other related manufacturing discipline (i.e. machining, welding, etc), or 2 years equivalent experience.
Technical Skills
(Required)
-Proficient in use of 3d parametric modeling and drafting software such as Autodesk
Inventor, Solidworks or Creo
-Print reading
-Proficient with Microsoft office products (i.e. Word, Excel, Ppt, Onenote, Teams, Sharepoint)
(Desired)
-Proficient in use of Creo Parametric modeling software
-Manufacturing print reading
-Hands on experience (machining, welding, automotive)
Soft Skills
(Required)
- Basic soft skills including verbal and written communication
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
