The Out of School Time Clinician will be responsible for case management and direct clinical work with children and families in the Out of School Time Program. The Program provides after school, school vacations and summer programming. The Clinician will collaborate with program leaders regarding program design and will work closely with the direct care staff to create a therapeutic environment and will ensure that the childrens overall treatment is in line with training principles, Italian Homes treatment philosophy and demonstrates the highest quality of care. The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the duties and responsibilities that will be required of the position, but additional responsibilities may be required. Employees are expected to perform job related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.

Essential Functions

  • Provide individual, group and family therapy for program participants
  • Attend staff meetings, lead staff meeting as assigned
  • Serve as main contact with client collaterals and family; Maintain regular contact with outside collaterals and parents
  • Relay all significant information to treatment team members
  • Attend conferences, family group conferences, planning meetings, or other relevant clinical meetings as assigned
  • Write initial treatment plans, psychosocial assessments, CANS assessments, quarterly treatment reviews, progress notes and discharge summaries in a timely fashion
  • Assist with intakes into the program and process all necessary paperwork
  • Provide direct supervision of children as needed
  • Provide clinical perspective to the Out of School Time Leaders
  • Work closely with Program leaders to review and assess program needs and make recommendations about program structure and design
  • Assist with training curriculum and training for direct care staff
  • Assist in providing behavioral and physical intervention in accordance with the approved format
  • Collaborate with Occupational Therapists to develop and implement the use of sensory integration with children

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS


  • Masters level degree in Social Work or in related field required
  • Must possess a Massachusetts State Clinical license (LICSW or LMHC) or capacity for advancement towards licensure in a timely fashion
  • 1-2 years post-masters experience preferred
  • Superior interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Schedule Flexibility in order to meet the needs of children's school schedules and parent availability
  • Maintain strictest confidentiality regarding clients, and employees; adhere to all HIPPA guidelines and regulations
  • Strong organizational skills, able to multi-task and prioritize, able to meet deadlines including necessary paperwork, notes and other required paperwork
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential in conjunction with computer literacy
  • Excellent motivational abilities
  • Receptive and responsive to supervision and professional development
  • Successful in a stressful and fast paced environment
  • Responsive to emergencies in a quick and safe manner
  • Evidence of sensitivity and respect for clients culture and socioeconomic characteristics
  • Valid drivers license and ability to operate a motor vehicle safely, strongly preferred
  • Visual and hearing acuity to perform job related functions
