It's Your Move, LLC is Hiring a Nurse Practitioner Near Williamston, NC

The Nurse Practitioner is someone who can deliver primary medical and psychiatric care to a wide variety of patients. Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for caring for patients, maintaining accurate and current patient records and scheduling, and administering follow-up appointments to patients as required. The successful candidate will work as a team with our nurses and physicians and will assist in delivering premium care to each and every patient.

Employee: Nurse Practitioner task 10-30 hours/wk.

Location: In office, community, home

Accountable to: CEO, Executive Director, Medical Director, or Human Resource Director

Sign on Bonus: $500 after 90 days

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor patients' medication usage, patient progress or responses to treatments, and results.
  • Document patients' medical and psychological histories, physical assessment results, diagnoses, treatment plans, prescriptions, or outcomes.
  • Record patient medical histories.
  • Diagnose psychiatric disorders, medical conditions, and mental health conditions.
  • Evaluate patients' behavior to formulate diagnoses or assess treatments and analyze patient data to determine patient needs or treatment goals.
  • Distinguish between physiologically and psychologically based disorders and diagnose appropriately and assess patients' mental and physical status based on the presenting symptoms and complaints.
  • Evaluate patient functioning, capabilities, or health.
  • Educate patients and family members about mental health and medical conditions, preventive health measures, medications, treatment plans, medical procedures or test results.
  • Write prescriptions or prescribe medications for psychotropic medications as allowed by state regulations and collaborative practice agreements.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including psychiatrists, psychologists, or nursing staff, to develop, implement, or evaluate treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to plan or provide treatment.

Other duties that may be deemed necessary:

  • Develop medical treatment plans.
  • Participate in activities aimed at professional growth and development including conferences or continuing education activities.
  • Maintain medical or professional knowledge.
  • Conduct individual, group, or family psychotherapy for those with chronic or acute mental disorders.
  • Treat patients using psychological therapies.
  • Interpret diagnostic or laboratory tests such as electrocardiograms (EKGs) and renal functioning tests.
  • Analyze test data or images to inform diagnosis or treatment.
  • Consult with psychiatrists or other professionals when unusual or complex cases are encountered.
  • Participate in treatment team conferences regarding diagnosis or treatment of difficult cases.
  • Provide routine physical health screenings to detect or monitor problems such as heart disease and diabetes.
  • Examine patients to assess general physical condition.
  • Develop practice protocols for mental health problems based on review and evaluation of published research.
  • Establish nursing policies or standards.
  • Refer patients requiring more specialized or complex treatment to psychiatrists, primary care physicians, or other medical specialists.
  • Refer patients to other healthcare practitioners or health resources.
  • Treat patients for routine physical health problems.
  • Develop, implement, or evaluate programs such as outreach activities, community mental health programs, and crisis situation response activities.
  • Design public or employee health programs and direct or provide home health services.
  • Teach classes in mental health topics such as stress reduction and health management.
  • Administer medications including those administered by injection or intravenous.
  • Monitor the use and status of medical and pharmaceutical supplies and maintain inventory of medical supplies or equipment.

Job Qualifications:

  • Must be a graduate of an Accredited School of Medicine and have completed training internship and residency as required for state Licensure.
  • Must be licensed by the state Medical Board with preference given to physicians Board certified in Family Practice and/or Internal Medicine or having suitable equivalent work experience.
  • Must be certified as a preceptor for physician extender or willingness to become certified if required.
  • Must possess current DEA registration for prescribing narcotics.
  • Must obtain CME as required for license renewal. Must attend IHS provider conferences if requested by the Executive Director.
  • Must provide documentation of immunity to measles and rubella or become vaccinated with the recommended vaccine and Hepatitis B vaccine and test annually for TB. Must have an annual health examination.
  • Must possess valid driver’s license.
  • Must strictly adhere to confidentiality policy.
  • Current malpractice insurance
