ISS World Careers is Hiring a Floor Tech Near Seattle, WA

Hourly Wage

The hourly pay range for this position is$22 per hour - $22 per hour. Benefits are provided in accordance with the location’s Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Key Purpose

Floor Technicians are responsible for the overall floor maintenance of hard surface and carpet (stripping, waxing, buffing, shampooing, extraction & bonneting) of areas that include offices, corridors, lobbies, entrances, stairwells, and other public areas such as break rooms.

Success Criteria

  • Maintain clean work area.
  • Follow all company procedures, policies, and rules.
  • Take direction and respond to supervision.
  • Communicate with the lead, supervisor, co-workers, managers, and customers professionally.
  • Fill in during staff shortage.
  • Support shift lead in completing punch-list items.
  • Use proper personal protective equipment.
  • Present a professional appearance and conduct.
  • Understand customer service and satisfaction.
  • Understand reporting systems and the environment.
  • Instilling trust

Ideal Candidate Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent education.
  • Minimum 1 ½ years’ experience in floor care.
  • Knowledge of how to strip, wax, and burnish floors with minimal to no assistance.
  • Knowledge and experience operating various pieces of equipment such as high-speed buffers, extractors, wet vacs, pressure washers, and auto scrubbers.
  • Janitorial or laborer experience in a facility setting is preferred.
  • Must be a team player and committed to working in a quality environment.
  • Demonstrates exceptional customer service skills.

Key Accountabilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance checks on all equipment prior to use.
  • Secure the work area and post proper safety notices for other users of the space prior to beginning work.
  • Floors care, including routine mopping (dry and damp), buffing and burnishing on hard surface floors and stairwells.
  • Vacuuming, shampooing, bonneting, and extracting carpets, stairwells, and upholstery.
  • Wall cleaning
  • Dusting (high and low)
  • Routine restroom cleaning
  • Routine office and/or break room cleaning.
  • Maintenance of floor care equipment

  • Must be able to push and pull a minimum of 30 pounds.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 10 to 50 pounds.
