JOB DESCRIPTION: Our agency is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Home Care Aide / Caregiver to join our team of Home Care Professionals. As a Home Care Aide / Caregiver, you will be responsible in maintaining a healthy and safe environment to our clientele in the comfort and privacy of their own home. The qualified Home Care Aide / Caregiver must be enthusiastic, compassionate, have moderate to excellent communication skills and be committed to delivering the highest quality of care.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
●Assistance with Activities of Daily Living to include: meal preparation and serving meals, ROM exercises, personal care, companionship and light chores
●Personal Care to include: bathing / showering, shampoo & hair care, oral hygiene, dressing & grooming, skin care & shaving, medication reminder, assistance with nutrition & feeding, turning, repositioning and ambulating.
●Light chores to include: laundry & folding, change bed linens, meal preparation & serving meals, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping and garbage disposal
● Assistance with grocery shopping & running errands
● Accompany client to doctor & specialist appointments
● Motivate clients to engage in social and recreational activities
● Assist with self-administered medications by reminding patients to take them at the prescribed time(s) and/or follow up to ensure they are taken properly
● Engage in mandatory in-service training & education programs
● Comply with HIPAA Privacy Act by protecting confidential client information
● Abide by professional standards, follow policies and procedures as well as federal state and local requirements, and Joint Commission standards.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS FOR THE JOB:
● A minimum of 6 months to 1 year of caregiving and homecare experience is highly preferred
● Must have CPR | First Aid Certification
● Must pass Fieldprint screening (background check)
● Must have reliable transportation
● If you're transporting a client you must have a valid State of Hawaii Drivers License
● Must have moderate to excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate sensitive information with empathy
● Ability to handle multiple tasks safely and effectively
● Ability to work well under-pressure and handle critical situations in a calm demeanor
● Must be 18 years or older (Hawaii State Dept. of Labor)
● Must be authorized to worth within the USA
● Must have a High School Diploma, or GED
