Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to join our team as a Janitor for our local synagogue. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of our facility, creating a welcoming environment for our congregation and visitors.

Responsibilities:

• Perform cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing surfaces throughout the facility.
• Empty trash receptacles and replace liners as needed.
• Clean and maintain restrooms, ensuring they are stocked with necessary supplies.
• Monitor and replenish cleaning and janitorial supplies as needed.
• Assist with setting up and breaking down chairs and tables for events and services.
• Perform minor maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs and fixing minor plumbing issues.
• Notify management of any maintenance or repair needs beyond the scope of janitorial duties.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment by adhering to health and safety regulations.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in janitorial or custodial work preferred but not required.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and thoroughness in cleaning tasks.
• Good communication skills and ability to interact with staff, congregation members, and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
• Flexibility in work schedule, with availability to work Saturdays.
• Must be reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and upkeep.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, bend, stoop, and kneel for extended periods.
• Comfortable working with cleaning chemicals and solutions while following safety guidelines.
