Iscar Metals, Inc. a dynamic and innovative company in the cutting tool industry, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our team in Arlington, Texas.

• Responsible for preventative/corrective maintenance of equipment/facilities modifications.  
• Performs skilled maintenance/preventative maintenance, fabrication and repair on equipment/facilities while following departmental policies and procedures.  
• Completes assignments in an orderly and expeditious manner while taking necessary safety precautions and following various trade codes.  
• Assures machine is in safe operating condition. Depending upon the setting, the technician may perform electrical, electronic, machining, welding, mechanical, fluid power and logistics duties.  
• When equipment fails, this position is expected to determine the cause of the failure and make the necessary adjustments or repairs to return equipment to production.  
• The technician works independently on maintenance/repair jobs. Occasionally works under direction of and assists other technicians, interacts with department personnel, and works with contractors on maintenance/repair, remodeling/construction assignments.  
• Proficiency is required in the use of tools/equipment utilized in any of the various trades to which the technician may be assigned.  
• The technician may install electrical conduits; this duty requires knowledge of electrical equipment writing and various electrical codes.  
• The technician may fabricate and install equipment/facilities components, this duty requires knowledge of machining processes, automated and semi-automated equipment and mechanical/pneumatic/hydraulic equipment.  
• The work in this classification may include but is not limited to changing or repairing the following equipment or facilities items: bearings, gear boxes, electrical motors, chains, sprockets, exhaust fans, sewage and/or sump pumps, irrigation, filters, light ballasts, light bulbs, fixtures and outlets, unclogging sinks/commodes, leaking faucets, replacing ceiling tile, demolishing walls, installing sheetrock, painting, ceiling tile, baseboards, door stops, wall units, assemble, dismantle and/or move furniture and partitions, etc.  
• The technician must be constantly aware of hazards and safety precautions. The technician may provide guidance or training to other maintenance technicians on any of the above duties.  
• Security – inspection of fire alarm, sprinkler and fire extinguisher, backflow device inspection.

Education and/or Experience

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 3-5 years related experience
• License, certification or two-year degree is preferred  
• Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, schematics and equipment drawings  
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations with other employees of the organization  
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals  
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.  
• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations/the technician must be constantly aware of hazards and safety precautions.  
• The technician works in situations such as those which require advanced trouble shooting techniques.  
• Experience with office computer use to include MS Office Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Must be motivated, safety minded, and demonstrate a team attitude.
