Job Description: High School English Teacher. Would consider Long-term Substitute

Position Overview:

We seek a dynamic and passionate High School English Teacher to join our educational institution. As a critical member of our faculty, the English teacher will inspire and empower students to develop strong language, reading, and writing skills while fostering a love for literature. 

Responsibilities:

Classroom Instruction: Conduct interactive and effective English language and literature classes, utilizing various teaching methodologies, multimedia tools, and hands-on activities to encourage active participation and comprehension.

Student Assessment: Assess and evaluate students' progress through various assessment methods, including quizzes, tests, projects, presentations, and written assignments, providing timely feedback to both students and parents.

Classroom Management: Establish and maintain a safe and respectful classroom environment that promotes positive behavior, discipline, and mutual respect among students.

Parent and Teacher Communication: Engage in open and consistent communication with parents or guardians, providing updates on student progress and discussing strategies for improvement.

Collaboration: Collaborate with fellow teachers, staff, and administrators to support school-wide initiatives, participate in professional learning communities, and contribute to the overall development of the school.

School Events: Participate actively in school events, such as parent-teacher conferences, faculty meetings, school celebrations, and professional development workshops.

Qualifications:

  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related field is required. 
  • Technology Skills: Familiarity with educational technology and ability to integrate it effectively into the teaching process.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with students, parents, and colleagues effectively.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility and adaptability to accommodate the diverse needs and challenges of a high school classroom.
  • Enthusiasm for Teaching: A genuine passion for teaching English, fostering a love for literature, and inspiring students to excel academically and personally.
