Business Manager

Irondequoit Ambulance (IA) has an opening for a Business Manager whose primary responsibilities are to manage the financial operations of the organization and oversee the Human Resources component of the agency. The Business Manager reports to the Chief and the Board of Directors.

Duties include:

· Develops and monitors the annual budget in conjunction with the Chief and the Board of Directors.

· Maintains accurate and up-to-date financial records including the maintenance of a system of internal controls. Enters all transactions into the accounting software.

· Coordinates the annual CPA audit. Consults with auditors as needed to implement internal controls and adjustments. Coordinates the workflow and information resources for outside financial consultants engaged by IA.

· Creates and manages billing invoices for scheduled transports, EMS contracts, and other financial components of the operation.

· Implements and oversees the Human Resources aspect of IA, including the employee 403B plan, health insurance plans for employees, all IA insurance plans (liability, property, equipment, vehicles, etc) in conjunction with the Chief and the Board of Directors.

· Manages contracts and service agreements and maintains vendor relationships.

· Prepares, reviews and/or approves purchase orders.

· Reviews all mail and distributes it through the organization as necessary.

· Prepares and makes bank deposits.

· Pays all bills as approved.

· Monitors bank balances and reconciles bank and investment accounts monthly.

· Transfers funds between accounts as necessary.

· Monitors, reviews, and audits reports from billing and collection companies.

· Manages the process of review and approval of Community Care applications.

· Manages the small claim court functions for “kept checks”.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree and/or experience in accounting, Business Management or related business experience

· Computer skills, including reports, presentations, and QuickBooks

Other:

· The Business Manager is part time 25-29 hours per week, Monday - Friday. The position requires attendance at the monthly Board of Directors meeting and other meetings as requested by the Chief or members of the Board of Directors. The salary range is $30-$35 per hour.
