Irish Immigration Pastoral Center is Hiring a Communications Coordinator Near San Francisco, CA

Overview

The Irish Immigration Pastoral Center (IIPC) seeks a creative and innovative individual to lead its Communications. This individual will bring key messaging to life through a broad range of digital and traditional marketing channels, including email marketing, website, and social media, prioritizing the IIPC brand, to increase organizational visibility and program attendance.

IIPC is a non-profit organization providing front-line services to the Irish and Irish American communities in San Francisco and the Bay Area, where you will have the opportunity to build skills and gain experience while connecting with the Irish and Irish American communities. The ideal candidate is a go-getter who loves the challenge of getting the message out there, stays atop the latest trends, gets excited about helping the community, and is looking to gain experience to further their social media and communications career.

This is a full-time position, and some weekend work is required.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Creates visual design elements for social media, email, and website content.
  • Assists in the development of email and web strategy and campaigns that drive visibility growth, increasing program attendance, program awareness, and organizational connection.
  • Manages and maintains social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and can generate metrics to determine audience engagement.
  • Remain current on social media trends and platforms for best-practice user engagement.
  • Manages email content calendar and creates email-marketing campaigns that drive IIPC and program attendance and membership.
  • Spearhead website redesign project, and maintain subsequent site updates.
  • Collects, tracks, analyzes, and reports on key web analytics post launch of site.
  • Uses marketing briefs and key messages to create webpages and email campaigns for events and programs that deliver results.
  • Manages email CRM to segment data and create targeted audiences for personalized messaging.
  • Works cross-departmentally to ensure cohesive web and email messaging and experience for all IIPC audiences.
  • Additional duties as assigned by Executive Director.
  • Flexibility to cover team responsibilities as needed.

Skills and Qualifications

  • 1– 3 years of experience in a social media/marketing role.
  • Bachelor’s degree OR equivalent academic training and professional experience in marketing, communications, and/or business.
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal required.
  • Experience and comfort with social media, email and web marketing best practices.
  • Proficient in design and layout, especially Canva; knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience using an email or CRM system such as Constant Contact
  • Solid understanding of web content management systems.
  • Comfortable using Zoom meeting, webinar or other like platforms.
  • Basic photo and video editing skills. Basic photography skills a plus.
  • Proficient in key web analytics.
  • Creative and strategic thinker who shares ideas and opinions.
  • Strong organizational skills with outstanding attention to detail.
  • High-energy, positive personality and an appreciation for a fast-moving, agile organization.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team and across departments.
  • Ability to understand constructive criticism and work with a team to produce the best results.
  • Willingness to learn.

Additional Information

Hours are typically Monday – Friday; 10:00am – 6:00pm; flexibility needed for evening and weekend events.
