Responsibilities

• Assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): CNAs help patients with basic tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and eating. They may also assist with mobility and transferring patients from beds to wheelchairs or vice versa.
• Vital Signs Monitoring: CNAs regularly measure and record patients' vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse rate, and respiration rate. They report any significant changes to the healthcare team.
• Patient Care: CNAs provide direct patient care, which may involve turning and repositioning bedridden patients to prevent bedsores, assisting with range-of-motion exercises, and providing assistance with medical devices like catheters or feeding tubes.
• Observation and Reporting: CNAs observe patients' physical and mental conditions, noting any changes or abnormalities and reporting them to the nursing staff. They play a vital role in monitoring patients' overall well-being.
• Documentation: CNAs maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including vital signs, patient care activities, and any changes in condition. They ensure proper documentation to facilitate communication and continuity of care.
• Assisting with Medical Procedures: CNAs may assist nurses or other medical professionals with various procedures, such as wound care, dressing changes, specimen collection, and basic medical tests.
• Patient Support and Comfort: CNAs offer emotional support and companionship to patients, addressing their concerns and providing a comforting presence during their stay. They also ensure patients' safety and security.
• Communication and Collaboration: CNAs communicate effectively with patients, their families, and the healthcare team, relaying important information and contributing to care planning and coordination.
• Infection Control: CNAs follow proper infection control protocols, including hand hygiene, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and adherence to isolation precautions to prevent the spread of infections.
• Maintaining Clean and Safe Environment: CNAs keep patient rooms and common areas clean and organized, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment for patients and staff.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)
• Age 18 years or above
• Proficiency in both written and verbal communication skills
• Evidence of COVID vaccination
• Encouraged possession of current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Capability to pass a criminal background check
• Capability to lift 50 pounds or more.
