Position Description:
Biomedical Technicians will repair, maintain, install and relocate medical diagnostic equipment in health care facilities. Technician will be utilizing technical knowledge of diagnostic systems to resolve issues and ensure customer satisfaction. This position involves the management of customer facing problems and issues, the technician must be comfortable troubleshooting both in person and over the phone. Responsibilities:
Provide field technical work on medical diagnostic equipment which may be inclusive but not limited to repairs, installations, and relocation of equipment.
The technician is expected to be available for work M-F with regional/national travel requirement; flexible hours (32 minimum/week)
While the technician will be part of a larger national team, he or she must be comfortable working and traveling independently.
Ideal candidate will be comfortable traveling long distances for short in services, and is able to have an open and flexible schedule to pick up assignments.
Appropriate PPE is provided to all employees prior to the start of assignments
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree or Technical School (Electronics)
5 years’ experience in the repair, maintenance, and installation of medical diagnostic equipment used in a laboratory setting
Previous experience as a biomedical technician in health care facilities required
Laboratory experience is required i.e., working with Urine Analyzers
Electronic, mechanical, pneumatic, and fluidic aptitude required
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational classes as required and reviewing technical bulletins
Assay Edition experience preferred
An active and unrestricted driver license is required for this position
Essential Functions:
Assist biomedical or field service staff with organizing, testing, and updating new or currently in use medical devices in the hospital setting
Perform tests on equipment utilizing proprietary software programs
Un-box medical devices from shipping or storage containers
Manually move/carry medical devices
Set-up and organization of equipment and workstations
Install and configure hardware, software and network products
Conduct routine checks and records data from product test after installation and configuration
