Ipswich Public Schools is Hiring an Anticipated Opening- Elementary Literacy Coach Near Ipswich, MA

Ipswich Public Schools is seeking a full-time Literacy Coach to be shared by the two elementary schools for the 2024/2025 school year. The Literacy Coach will work in classrooms with teachers to support them in a shift to the Science of Reading and our new Wit and Wisdom curriculum. Please note that the Literacy Coach is not a Reading Specialist position. We are looking for someone with prior experience in Wit and Wisdom as well as coaching colleagues. Additional summer PD leadership opportunities will be available.Responsibilities:Collaborate daily with teachers in their classrooms as they begin to use Wit and Wisdom curriculumSupport teachers in using Fundations and Geodes in addition to Wit and WisdomSupport teachers in Tier 1 interventions in the ELA classroomDevelop and lead in-district professional development Consult regularly with principals and the Director of Teaching and LearningCoordinate, propose, and run a daily schedule that allows equitable time between both elementary schools and grade levelsJoin the "Compass" curriculum committee of teacher leaders and participate in ELA curriculum implementationBe a leader in elementary data meeting protocol, tools, and formatsQualifications: Hold valid Massachusetts Academic Teacher license(s) for elementary grades and/or Specialist Teacher of Reading LicensureMaster's degree in Elementary Education and/or Reading/LiteracyExperience as a Literacy CoachExperience and familiarity with Wit and Wisdom, Fundations, and GeodesExperience facilitating data meetings for and with teachersExperience leading high quality professional developmentKnowledge of the MA Dyslexia mandateStrong familiarity with common literacy benchmarking assessments (DIBELs; STAR; DRA-3; BAS; etc)Have a strengths-based approach to educators as life-long learnersThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to do this job.
