The Communications Instructor will provide effective and engaging instruction in English and speech courses in face-to-face and alternative virtual and online formats. Course assignments will depend on credentials per the Iowa Community Colleges Guideline for Faculty Qualifications. This position will include teaching via Triton Live networks and traveling to area high schools, academies, and other Centers to teach college courses. This department requires effective assessment of student learning with course design and pedagogy that connects students to content, each other, and the world. The individual will complete required professional development and participate in cross-department work and committees. Commitment to annual reporting, assessment, and the strategic plan is required. Maintaining and expanding program articulations with transfer institutions is expected. Conducting NACEP visits and documentation is required. The salary listed reflects the hiring range.

GENERAL PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES WITH OR WITHOUT A REASONABLE ACCOMMODATION:
Position involves sitting, standing and walking in the classroom during the class sessions and includes constant (67-100%) talking, listening, observing student activity, reaching, standing, lifting, dexterity, grasping, viewing and repetitive motions; frequent (34-66%) writing on boards, using instructional aids, carrying classroom materials, walking between buildings, travel to off campus facilities to teach classes recruit or attend meetings; and occasional (10-33%) lifting or moving instructional materials.
