Description Summary

The OSHA Trainer is responsible for providing training and education on Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations and best practices.
Examples of Duties
Constant (67-100%)
•Conduct engaging and informative OSHA training sessions for employees/students at various locations.
•Customize training programs to address the unique safety challenges of each client.
•Utilize various instructional methods, including presentations, hands-on activities, and discussions.
•Establish and maintain positive relationships with client representatives.
•Address client concerns and collaborate to meet specific safety training needs.
•Maintain accurate records of training sessions, including attendance and evaluations.
•Stay informed about industry-specific safety challenges and best practices.
•Ensure that participants understand OSHA regulations and guidelines, promoting a safe and healthy work environment.
Frequent (34-66%)
•Seek feedback from participants and clients to enhance the effectiveness of training programs.
•Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and professional development.
Occasional (10-33%)
•Design and develop new or expanded comprehensive safety training.
•Attend meetings as necessary.
•Complete necessary and appropriate training.
•Develop equipment and training aids for non-credit training.
•Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Must be a current OSHA Authorized General Industry Trainer. The applicant must be authorized to conduct OSHA 10- and 30-hour General Industry courses in accordance with Outreach Training Program requirements. Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, industrial hygiene, or a related field preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to adapt training content to diverse industries and organizational needs. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Willingness to travel to client sites as needed.

Position involves constant (67-100%) talking, hearing, listening, viewing, and demonstrating proper techniques and skills; frequent (34-66%) writing on board of overhead, manipulating instructional aids/equipment, walking in office and classrooms and between buildings and travel in all seasons; and occasional (10-33%) communicating via telephone and e-mail, travel, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, or carrying/lifting items up to 25 pounds.
