Iovance Biotherapeutics is Hiring a Supply Chain & Logistics Intern Near Philadelphia, PA

Overview

The Supply Chain & Logistics Intern will participate in various activities and projects related to the procurement and planning of component parts to fulfill customer requirements according to the standard procurement and inventory management processes at Iovance Cell Therapy Center (iCTC).

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with manufacturing, procurement, and logistics teams to design process improvements strategies and methods that ensure efficient sourcing, delivery, inventory management, and business contingency plans of key materials such as Proleukin to meet demand forecasts while minimizing risks associated with supply disruptions and costing augmentation.
  • Assist in the implementation of buying/planning operational excellence roadmap that focuses on the balancing of released inventory, projected demand/consumption and associated supplier lead times to optimize inventory levels as it relates to the kitting process, while understanding footprint constraints within the iCTC Warehouse.
  • Develop process flowcharts identifying critical steps, associated risks, and risk mitigation plans to ensure inventory accuracy by monitoring picking/kitting operations and cycle counts, and when necessary, determine root cause for variances and analyze and recommend preventive measures or process modifications.
  • Support the organization in process improvement and cost reduction goals utilizing Lean Six Sigma tools and methodology that monitors and assesses applicable testing and release activities with appropriate internal and external quality control laboratory testing facilities in accordance with the Master Schedule and expected production timelines.
  • Work with Supply Chain leadership to identify appropriate metrics at various employee levels, collect relevant data, and create visualizations that monitor material status and effectively track obsolete & expired materials, review aged inventory, and establish necessary disposition procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by leader.

Required Education, Skills, and Knowledge

  • Must be currently enrolled in a degree program at an accredited university/college.
  • Strong interpersonal and team-building skills, effective communication (both written and verbal), proactive problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Possess the ability to bridge relationships between various departments, levels of the organization, supplier and customer organizations.
  • Excellent organization skills and an ability to prioritize effectively to deliver results within reasonably established guidelines.
  • Must be comfortable in a fast-paced small company environment with minimal direction and able to adjust workload based upon changing priorities with a strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

  • Must be able to move about inside an office and exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
  • Must have visual acuity to perform activities such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures, viewing a computer screen, and extensive reading.
  • This position requires repetitive motion, substantial movements (motions) of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Must be able to communicate with others to exchange information.

Work Environment

This job works in a professional office environment and a manufacturing lab setting. Potential exposure to latex, bleach, loud noise, lab equipment hazards, strong odors, and chemical/biochemical is possible.  Requires operating standard office equipment and keyboards.
