The qualified EI Special Instructor will work with the child like a teacher and assists in the child’s acquisition of skills in a variety of developmental areas. The Special Instructor focuses on cognitive, social-emotional, self-help and communication skills, along with motor development, in order to help children meet developmental milestones.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in early intervention, early childhood, special education, early childhood education, child development, special education or family studies.
• One year experience or student practicum with young children with disabilities and their families

OR

• Bachelor’s Degree which includes 15 credits in early intervention, early childhood education, child development, special education or family studies and one year experience with young children with disabilities and their families and demonstrated knowledge to perform functions as specified.
