SUMMARY

The following job description represents a single person, multi-skilled operator. This position includes the skills of a welder, machinist, and fabricator, and provides a critical support function to ensure parts are prepared/modified for a semi-custom powerboat manufacturing facility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES including but not limited to the following:

• Plans and performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of metal work via machining and welding parts, shaping and forming, using written specifications and company procedures.
• Operates all machines related to metal working; lathes, Bridgeport, shear, grinder/polishers, and MIG/TIG welding.
• May rework any defective parts, coordinate with materials and manufacturing departments, and ensures parts are modified to specification. 
• Able to help with engineering and problem solving for custom modifications.
• Complies with all quality policies, specifications, regulations and instructions
• Performs all tasks in a safe and responsible manner
• Other repairs and duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job satisfactorily, an individual must be able to perform each above listed essential duty satisfactorily.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Knowledge of all facets of fabrication including welding and metal work.

Prefer at least 5 years experience and/or vocational training certification, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Preference will be given for those with marine industry experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Ability to lift 50 lbs. when required. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
