Intertek US is Hiring a Manager Administration Near Houston, TX

Intertek Oil and Gas upstream services offer independent, mission-critical expertise to the exploration and production (E&P) industry. Intertek provides technical support for a wide range of E&P activities, including laboratory and field services, for petroleum and natural gas reservoir and production optimization. 

E&P scientists, engineers and technicians are strategically located to support clients, and have years of upstream industry experience.

Location; Intertek Westport Technology Center , 6700 Portwest Drive, Houston TX 77024

Intertek Westport Technology Center in Houston is the flagship of Intertek Upstream Services and one of the largest integrated laboratories in the world focused on Exploration and Production solutions. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

This position is responsible for the finance and business administration management of an assigned region or stream, including managing month-end close, hands-on and preparation of data and trending/analysis of said data, and working with the business leaders to prepare forecasts, etc. 

EXAMPLES OF WORK

Listed examples are illustrative and representative of the tasks required of this position and are not intended to be complete or exclusive.

  • Responsible for finance and business administration management of a $10 million revenue budget, based upon currently assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Assist the Management in staffing, development and goal setting/rewards for staff members and initiates processes designed to enhance employee commitment and teambuilding.
  • Provide oversight to respective departments (listed below) and ensure all processes are being performed in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
  • Responsible for the Month End Close process, including Revenue and Expense reconciliations and related General Ledger entry preparation.
  • Prepare monthly Business Expense Review reporting – Prior month expense analysis by project.
  • Assist in current process reviews to challenge, reengineer and gain improved efficiencies.
  • Actively participate in developing improved forecasting models.
  • Assist in the monthly review of balance sheet accounts, and fixed asset spending.
  • Responsible for researching items on P&L and provide customer service.
  • P&L close and analysis, lease and capital review, forecasting and budgeting process improvement and liaison with local staff and central transaction and GL team. 
  • Responsible of fixed asset system updates, which will include fixed asset inventories.
  • Assist in the evaluation of the system of internal controls over financial reporting and help remediate any deficiencies, particularly related to lab operations.
  • Assist in all related financial analysis.
  • Assist in preparation of forecasts and budgets.

 SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position is responsible for the effective supervision, mentoring and hiring for the following departments:

  • Contracts & Purchasing
  • Accounts Receivable
  • Accounts Payable
  • Facilities
  • Administrative Office Support

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field is required.
  • Minimum 4 years hands-on experience in a medium or large business environment, technical experience is required.
  • A strong understanding of proper accounting procedures and US GAAP is essential.
  • Candidate must have the ability to work under pressure and meet fixed deadlines on a timely basis and have the ability to work both as an individual contributor and within a team environment.
  • Candidate must be a highly organized individual with excellent verbal and written communication skills, Excel experience and pay meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to travel up to 25 % of the time

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Financial Modelling-Advanced knowledge of financial analysis methodsand financial modelling
  • Excellent Communications-Both written and verbal communication skills
  • Hands-on Orientation – The Company has a hands-on, problem solving, team culture. It is essential that the individual have the ability to go in and solve problems, coach others to step up and continue the process. 
  • Exceptional Management Skills – An individual that has the ability to inspire others within the company; someone with a “roll up the sleeves” approach to getting things done. 
  • Strategic Focus- Ability to provide strategic financial recommendations to senior and line management including implications of policy decisions. 
  • ERP Systems- Solid working knowledge of ERP accounting systems & reporting tools, PeopleSoft is required
  • GAAPStrong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
