Interstate Mechanical, LLC (IMCOR), one of Arizona's most well-known and successful Mechanical Contractors, is currently seeking an experienced PLUMBING TRADE SUPERINTENDENT to join our team!

Position Summary:

Manages Plumbing department consisting of project field crews, Plumbing CAD Detailing Crew and Plumbing Prefabrication crew ranging from 50 to 100 people. Manages labor and material cost for all projects. Responsible for the day-to-day activities of crews on assigned projects. Provides guidance and direction to crews in meeting the budgets and schedule dates on each project. Ensures job quality and customer satisfaction is maintained on every project. Interacts with clients, customers and vendors to build lasting relationships. Creates the type of positive environment that works to maintain a sufficient and qualified work force. Reports to the General Superintendent.

Typical Responsibilities and Duties:

  • PLAN, STAFF, and DIRECT Plumbing Department (PSD)
  • Understand we do not lead our staff by screaming, yelling or intimidating
  • Understand how to deal with confrontation in a calm and diplomatic manner
  • Identify and manage scope, schedule and cost of all field projects
  • Manage and maintain manpower for all field, fab shop and CAD detailing needs to meet the current and future workload
  • Update and maintain Manpower placement (Use provided spreadsheet)
  • Set up labor feedback/labor codes for each project before the start of the project (Use provided spreadsheet)
  • Review and manage job cost status on each project on a minimum of a monthly basis, labor and material (Use provided Job Cost Report and labor feedback)
  • Identify, manage and mitigate any problem areas in the field and fab shop that relate to safety, production, and efficiency
  • Man load each project based on schedule and labor hours, prior to the start of the project (Use provided spreadsheet)
  • Update labor projections (Use provided spreadsheet)
  • Set up and maintain manpower list/compensation (Use provided spreadsheet)
  • Create and maintain a monthly employee review schedule (Use provided spreadsheet)
  • Conduct annual reviews on time
  • Hire and release employees as necessary to maintain workload
  • Maintain an efficient and cost-effective department crew rate based on current estimates
  • Provide training in areas that need attention
  • Lead by example by treating people with dignity and respect
  • Manages Plumbing Department
  • Accountable for Quality Installation of Assigned Jobs/Projects
  • Review Submittals for Accuracy and Compliance
  • Identify Potential Change Orders
  • Maintain Customer Relations
  • Attend Cost/Job Reviews
  • Schedule Manpower and Hire Employees
  • Monitor Labor Reporting & Job Cost Reviews
  • Review/Approve Time Sheets
  • Complete Assigned Jobs/Projects "On Time and Under Budget"

Requirements:

  • Have AZ Journeyman License - Current.
  • MUST Have 7 Years’ Experience of VERIFIABLE Commercial Plumbing Superintendent Experience in Heavy Commercial Construction (Hotels, Office Bldgs., Hospitals, Casinos, etc.)
  • Salary will commensurate based on verifiable experience and ability to deliver profitable work
  • Must have 5 Year Clean Driving Record.
  • Be Able to Work with CAD/BIM Dept. on All Assigned Jobs/Projects.
  • Have the Ability to Identity Pre-Fab Opportunities
  • Have Excellent Work Ethic.
  • Have Great Attendance.
  • Have Superior Verbal and Written Communication Skills.
  • Be Proficient in Excel, Outlook and Word
  • Be a Team Player.
