Role Summary A valet attendant in the (City) market is responsible for parking and retrieving customer vehicles. Optional: Generally, a valet attendant will pull cars from customers at one location such as a hotel, restaurant, etc. and park them in a remote parking lot/garage. They will then be required to retrieve the customer cars from the remote parking lot/garage location and drive them back to the customers when they return. Essential Responsibilities Drives and maneuvers automatic and stick shift cars in confined, underground facilities, surface lots, or up and down parking garage ramps. Returns to work stations quickly so as to facilitate optimal customer flow. Handles each vehicle with care and attention, and follows all facility safety precautions. Provides outstanding customer service by responding to customer needs, questions, and problems and/or complaints as quickly and efficiently as possible. May assist customers in and out of vehicles. Reports any accidents, hazards or maintenance requirements, or the presence of any suspicious individuals or activities immediately to the manager. Remain vigilant for anything unusual or potentially threatening and inform management immediately. Monitor work area and property for safety and security. Recognize potentially dangerous situations and respond in the safest and most effective manner. Participate in all safety and security trainings within the market. On an exception basis, a valet attendant may be required to perform cashier duties or light garage maintenance duties. Required Qualifications Must know how to and be able to drive a manual and automatic transmission passenger vehicles. Possess math skills sufficient to calculate time and money. Must be able to understand verbal instructions and act accordingly in a timely manner. Preferred Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Professional experience parking cars or working as a valet attendant. Prior customer service industry experience. Possess excellent communication skills in order to facilitate interactions with co-workers, superiors, and customers. Possess strong time management skills and ability to perform in a fast-paced environment with high customer volume. Positive attitude and strong customer focus. Ability to grasp, push, scoop, and lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
