The A/R & Cash Application Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of all incoming customer payments. The Specialist will investigate customer deductions, obtain backup necessary to process credit memos and submit disputes as necessary working directly with the customer, Sales Department and Sales Operations Team.

What you will get to do:

• Process all incoming customer payments, including bank deposits, wires and credit cards (including in foreign currency) daily.
• Obtain, format and upload payment files from customer databases to Nordic Ware's ERP system.
• Accurately and efficiently post payments to customer accounts.
• Reconcile and research customer deductions.
• Ensure posted payments are balanced and accurate.
• Process internal debit memos with clear explanations and distribute to compliance team for additional review and discussion.
• Create credit memos for customer adjustments, promotional allowances, write-offs and debit memos, following credit authorization levels as defined by policy.
• Process manual invoices for customer refunds and apply invoice to open credit memos / unapplied receipts.
• Communicate overpayments and shortages to supervisor (?).
• Gain and maintain understanding of customer's web portals and timeline requirements for payments, disputes and research.
• Learn and use internal quote system, customer promotion documents, and other backup documentation provided to/from customer to match to customer deductions.
• Assist in the development, implementation and documentation of procedures and system enhancements pertinent to the effective and efficient operations of A/R Department
• Participate in company-wide meetings and functions.

What you'll bring to the role:

• A degree in Accounting or other related coursework preferred.
• 1 years of relevant experience in Accounting, Accounts Receivable, Cash Application, etc.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Experience in Epicor or a similar ERP preferred.
• Accurate data entry skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills and an attention to detail
• A strong work ethic
• Ability to collaborate, problem solve and adopt recommended changes
