Job Title: New Roots Food Access Intern

Work Arrangement: In-person SCOPE OF WORK: The IRC Phoenix New Roots Program’s focus is to help newly arrived refugees, asylees and other immigrant populations access fresh, affordable and healthy produce, better integrate into their communities, and navigate their new food systems. The New Roots Food Access Intern will help IRC staff in outreach, recruitment and facilitation of the “Navigating a New Food System” program as well as operation of the New Roots CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) Produce Box program at CamelBackyard. This internship is located in multiple locations throughout the valley depending on client needs and does potentially require Saturday availability. Intern will work directly with the New Roots Local Food Coordinator. RESPONSIBILITIES: LEARNING OUTCOMES: REQUIREMENTS: Note: This is an unpaid internship. Intern must commit to at least 10-15 hours per week for a 3-month minimum. Internship hours are completed between Monday and Friday from 9:00 AM-5:00 PM and may require some Saturday availability for Farm Stand activities. This position reports to the New Roots Local Food Coordinator IRC leading the way from harm to home.
