We are currently seeking a well-orginized, driven Senior Tax Manager to join our team with Xanterra's Corporate Office Team in Greenwood VIllage, CO! This role will be accountable for formulating and executing comprehensive tax strategies on a global scale, overseeing compliance, and strategically planning for both domestic and international operations.

Responsibilities

Strategic Tax Planning:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive tax strategies for domestic and international operations to optimize the organization's tax position.
  • Lead tax research for new business ventures, projects, or expansions, providing insights into potential tax benefits or liabilities, both domestically and internationally.
  • Conduct tax due diligence for potential investments or acquisitions, identifying potential tax risks and opportunities.
  • Monitor and assess potential risks related to tax compliance, domestically and internationally, implementing effective risk management practices.
  • Stay abreast of changes in tax laws and regulations to proactively address emerging issues.

Compliance Management:

  • Oversee the preparation and review of accurate and timely federal and state income tax returns for the C-Corp, including tax workpapers and state apportionment schedules.
  • Prepare pro forma S-Corp returns and state apportionment schedules for parent company reporting.
  • Track all deferred book/tax differences by property and record adjustments as necessary.
  • Prepare and maintain tax provision work papers for year-end reporting at various levels.
  • Manage and oversee both the preparation and accuracy of taxable income estimates for both C-Corp and S-Corp entities and related payments, as necessary.
  • Maintain tax book roll forwards for all companies.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant domestic and international tax laws and regulations.
  • Manage the submission of property tax renditions and payments, ensure compliance with property tax regulations.
  • Manage the review and submission of sales tax returns and payments for multiples states and localities.
  • Manage compliance charts for taxable and exempt transactions for all companies.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of various other returns.

Asset Management:

  • Supervise and maintain tax books in the asset management system, ensuring accuracy and completeness of depreciation methods, conventions, and lives.
  • Implement best practices for tracking and reporting tax-related information within the asset management system.

Financial Reporting and Accruals:

  • Manage the monthly income tax accrual process, including monthly journal entries, ensuring proper accounting for tax liabilities.
  • Oversee the completion and review of GL account reconciliations for various tax related accounts.
  • Manage the formulation of property tax budgets for individual operations.

VAT and GST Management:

  • Oversee Value Added Tax (VAT) and Goods and Services Tax (GST) compliance for international operations.
  • Ensure accurate reporting and timely submission of VAT/GST returns and payments.

Collaboration, Communication, and Leadership:

  • Collaborate with finance team members to ensure accurate financial reporting and alignment between tax and financial data.
  • Communicate effectively with external auditors and tax advisors to facilitate compliance and address any audit-related matters.
  • Oversee the tax accountant by providing guidance, training, and fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement in tax-related functions, implementing changes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications

  • Possessing a sharp and insightful mind while consistently paying close attention to detail.
  • Exceptional skill set utilizing Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office products.
  • OneSource and DataFlow software experience highly desired.
  • Infor CloudSuite software experience a plus.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Extremely well-organized and demonstrated ability to process large amounts of data efficiently.
  • Demonstrated ability to be a self-starter and work in a fast-paced environment prone to shifting priorities.
  • Demonstrates both the initiative and capability to work independently with minimal supervision, while also being self-motivated and effective in collaborative team environments.

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • CPA
  • Graduate degree in tax highly preferred.
  • Significant experience in tax-related roles, with a minimum of 10 years of progressive experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of domestic and international tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and influencing strategic decision-making.
  • Ability to explain complex tax concepts in a clear and understandable manner.

COMPENSATION: The salary range for this position is $155,000.00 - $185,000.00 plus incentive.
