We’re hiring a Manager of Transportation Services to Live. Work. Explore. in Yellowstone! 

The Details:Position Type: Full-Time Year-Round 

Pay: Will be discussed during the interview process Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours per week, (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities

  • Understand and operate in accordance with Xanterra Parks & Resorts Mission and Core Values
  • Responsible for planning, organizing, directing and managing the operations of the Transportation Maintenance and Transportation and Interpretation Departments
  • Work closely with the shop foreman to schedule and assign vehicle maintenance to maximize productivity and efficiency in the Transportation Maintenance operations
  • Staff selection, employee training and development, effective use of labor force
  • Administration of the Transportation Maintenance department under the terms of the company’s collective bargaining agreement
  • Development and implementation of Preventive Maintenance Programs for fleet vehicles
  • Continually analyze Transportation Department tours and activities for the purpose of adding, deleting or modifying new products
  • Development of department rates and schedules and maintenance for summer and winter Transportation Department operations
  • Analyze expenditures and other financial information in order to develop plans, policies, and budgets for increasing profits and improving services
  • Monitor spending to ensure that expenses are consistent with approved budgets
  • Administer multi-Park DOT program
  • Assure departmental compliance of all reports and logs applicable to federal Department of Transportation regulations
  • Administer the Electronic Logging Device program for Department of Transportation compliance purposes
  • Interacts with the National Park Service interpretive and concession management staffs to assure client satisfaction with interpretive programs
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Basic accounting skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Knowledge of company policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations
  • Understand and promote a safe work environment and safe driving practices
  • Must possess good written and verbal communication skills, with emphasis on the ability to effectively produce and distribute information across different units within and outside the company

  • Excellent decision-making ability
  • Excellent customer service skills with both internal and external customers

Physical Requirements include:

  • Ability to sit for long periods of time
  • Ability to work in a higher altitude environment
  • Ability to climb stairs
  • Ability to lift boxes of materials of 30 – 75 lbs
  • Ability to walk, reach, stand, as necessary to perform job duties as noted
