Job Summary

The JAG Manager oversees the JAG program in Hancock, Hamilton, Hendricks, Johnson, Shelby, Madison and Morgan counties and supervises the JAG Specialists working in each high school. Works with and supervises the JAG Outreach Coordinator. Will work with school personnel, including Counselors, Principals and Superintendents to ensure the referral process and program is compliant with the JAG national model.

Essential Job Duties

• Serves as a supervisor for the JAG Specialists and the JAG Coordinators.
• Works with and provides assistance to the JAG staff to ensure the program meets enrollment and performance goals and delivers the JAG services according to the JAG program model.
• Monitors and reports on the progress of the program through monthly Managers reports submitted to the Department of Workforce Development (DWD).
• May prepare other reports and make presentations within the region to schools, businesses and the Region 5 Workforce Development Board, upon request.
• Trains JAG staff and provides technical assistance on the JAG data reporting system, eNDMS, and the tracking system for the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), Indiana Career Connect (ICC).
• Participates in school activities and supports the JAG Specialists in their work.
• Communicates on a regular basis with the JAG Staff and IA Management team members on areas requiring attention and improvement.
• Works with and coordinates the activities of the JAG Coordinator.
• Promotes and advocates for the JAG program to the business community, to involve them in the classroom experiences and the provision of Work Experiences for the JAG students.
• Works with the MIS Specialist and Associate Director to oversee the work of the JAG Specialists in the enrollment, eligibility and records maintenance of each youth from the time of enrollment through the 12-month follow-up period.
• Participates in meetings and training at local, regional, state and national levels.

Working Conditions

Works most of the time in a well-ventilated modern office. Performance of duties requires frequent travel within Region 5 and occasionally outside of the region. Works standard 8:00-4:30 except when duties require adjusted schedule or alternate scheduling is approved. Infrequent overnight travel is required.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in a related field.

Experience

At least one year of related work experience required in a position of responsibility requiring independent judgement.

Communication

Oral and written communication skills should demonstrate the ability to write letters, emails, and reports and prepare presentations. Public speaking required.
