InterFaith Shelter Network is Hiring a Bilingual Housing Case Manager Near Santa Rosa, CA

Agency Background:

InterFaith Shelter Network (IFSN) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing comprehensive support and services to those experiencing homelessness in Sonoma County. Our mission is to provide housing and a hand-up for anyone experiencing homelessness in Sonoma County in an atmosphere of dignity, respect, and kindness.

Summary of the Position:

IFSN provides comprehensive support and resources to families and individuals experiencing homelessness. IFSN is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Bilingual Housing Case Manager to join our dynamic team. The Bilingual Housing Case Manager position at IFSN is a housing focused position that assists homeless families and individuals locate and maintain permanent housing. The Bilingual Housing Case Manager, under direction from the Program Manager, conducts intakes, co-creates treatment plans, works with clients to address, and find solutions to various barriers to housing. Once barriers are identified, the Bilingual Housing Case Manager establishes action steps to address barriers to obtaining and maintaining housing. The Bilingual Housing Case Manager is responsible for timely and accurate case notes and data reporting for input into the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS).

IFSN is currently hiring two Case Managers to work with individuals and families who are experiencing homelessness.

Essential Duties:

● Direct service provided within Housing First, and Harm Reduction Models: program intake/enrollment, case planning, ongoing case management in support of housing and specific program goals.

● Develop individual housing case plans and provide ongoing housing search services.

● Assist participants with accessing community resources.

● Create and maintain electronic files and Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) case files to record all documentation.

● Attend and participate in weekly team meetings.

● Develop partnerships with property managers and landlords throughout Sonoma County

● Develop an understanding of resources available in Sonoma County for homeless families and individuals.

● Attend apartment viewings in support of clients on caseload

● Conduct inspections to ensure proposed units are habitable

● Provide Housing Stabilization services once clients are housed to ensure housing is maintained post graduation

● Direct service also includes assisting clients with skill building, financial education, and employment preparation.

● Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications/Education:

● BA in sociology, psychology, or related field of social science. Comparable work experience will be considered in lieu of education.

● Knowledge of housing assistance programs.

● Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.

Abilities:

● Experience providing similar social services to homeless families and/or individuals in crisis is highly preferred.

● Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills and ability to interact effectively with other agencies.

● The ability to work in collaboration with a team is crucial, as our agency has a consultation-heavy culture.

● Effective time management skills and ability to multitask.

● Ability to follow written program policies and procedures.

● Intermediate computer skills. Experience with Microsoft Office Programs and Google G-Suite is preferred.

● Automobile, valid driver's license, ability to provide transportation and ability to meet IFSN’s driving policy.

Wage Range: $26-28 per hour, DOE

· Monday to Friday

· Full time position: 40 hours per week

· Alternative work schedules:9/80, 4/10s, 5/8s, 4/9s with 1 half day
