Position: Mental Health Clinical Supervisor (CS)-MHS (Mental Health Services Team)
Hours: Intermittent up to 14 hours – Bilingual Preferred
Definition
In a multi-cultural, multi-disciplinary environment acts as primary BBS clinical supervisor within the Mental Health & Trauma Treatment (MH&TT) department. According to California BBS regulations and MH&TT department standards, provides onboarding, training, clinical supervision and evaluation of assigned BBS registered Mental Health Therapist I, II, or Student Trainee/Interns and case consult to Mental Health Therapist III, IV. Collaborates on high risk cases, providing triage with Managers and Director. Reports to Clinical Services Manager – MHS
Distinguishing Characteristics:
Clinical Supervisor I (LMFT or LCSW) – is the entry/trainee level classification, where emphasis is on developing clinical supervision style, practicing reflective supervision, mentoring, coaching, and training. Provides weekly individual or triadic clinical supervision according to California BBS regulations and department standards. Provides back up clinical supervision. May provide group clinical supervision. Participates in onboarding clinicians. Collaborates with Clinical Services Manager on Introductory and Annual performance reviews. Is a member of the treatment team.
Hourly Rate: 2 years $41/$42 bilingual
Clinical Supervisor II (LMFT or LCSW with demonstrated clinical supervisory experience in multiple clinical settings) – is the expert level classification providing clinical supervision described in CS I. Additionally, provides training, supervision and support to staff designated with clinical supervision assignments including independent contractors. May facilitate or coordinate training.
Hourly Rate: 3 years $43/$44 bilingual

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Working knowledge of: diagnosis, assessment, prognosis, treatment, rehabilitation and case management for children, adolescents, adults and families experiencing trauma, victimization, parenting challenges, serious mental illness, alcohol and drug issues, co-occurring disorders; case conceptualization; transference and countertransference; mentoring, coaching, training, leadership; providing effective therapeutic techniques and modalities; psychosocial and cultural factors affecting mental health and service delivery; case collaboration and engaging collaterals; professional development; evidence based treatment interventions and models; research, problem solving, directives; and administrative procedures related to the delivery of mental health services, and Medi-Cal, state and federal mental health programs descriptions, treatment benefits, application procedures, etc.
Ability to: ethically and respectfully establish and maintain effective working relationships with others as part of a multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural team; communicate effectively in writing and orally, including public speaking; efficiently organize time and workload responsibilities; effectively utilize agency and community resources; conduct individual, triadic or group clinical supervision; teach clinical skills, use of clinical judgement, case conceptualization, all aspects of clinical practice, laws, rules and regulations; demonstrate respect and equity; and help develop professional clinicians.

All supervisee assignments involve work in multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural settings with seriously emotionally, disturbed children or adolescents, or complex trauma as well as adults with complex trauma and co-occurring disorders as well as parenting challenges. Interface mental health services are decentralized throughout the County and are primarily located at Interface sites with some field-work and travel within the County.
Continuous review of BBS requirements and funder requirements may result in position descriptions update or changes in clinical supervisory or supervision requirements. When updated positional descriptions will be reviewed with incumbents.
