InterContinental St Paul Riverfront is Hiring a Restaurant & Outlets Manager Near Paul, MN

We are seeking Restaurant and Outlets Manager! The Restaurant & Outlets Manager is responsible for overseeing all functions in the front of house, which includes Citizen Supper Club, In- Room Dining, Coffee Shop. It is the responsibility of the Restaurant & Outlets Manager to make sure that all of the guests are being provided with excellent service, food and beverage.

The Restaurant & Outlets Manager must correct any of the front of the house team members if anything important is being neglected. The Restaurant & Outlets Manager must also effectively resolve any issues that arise from guest dissatisfaction.
Incumbent will also be responsible for assisting the Director of Food and Beverage with daily operations in conjunction with developing and training staff to provide exceptional service. 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensure a smooth dining, bar, in- room dining and coffee shop experience for all guests. This includes timely seating and food delivery as well as proper attention from servers, bartenders and barista’s.
  • Monitor and meet restaurant, room service, outlets financial objectives by supporting the Director of Food and Beverage by developing effective processes with the department.
  • Monitor meal durations, be on the floor-prime time, reset tables and manage the waiting list.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively within the f & b operations, which include, culinary, stewarding, special events manager, banquets and all other supporting departments.
  • Conduct monthly meetings, pre-shift daily.
  • Familiar with POS, Micros System, Opentable online reservation system.
  • Complete payroll daily, weekly schedules, input daily tips, meet deadlines.
  • Participate in monthly beverage inventory
  • Direct, manage and provide leadership to supervisor.
  • Reduce the risk of losing or incorrectly taking a reservation while still providing a convenient booking means for guests.
  • Maintains safe working conditions within department and restaurant:
  • Ensures that all employees follow safety rules and procedures.
  • Evaluates and monitors security systems.
  • Takes corrective action where required to improve safety of work areas.
  • Strives to reduce accidents within the department.
  • Complies with all health and legal regulations.
  • Develops actions plans for any Health Department regulations and notices.
  • Meets and exceeds the expectations of the employees by utilizing leadership skills and motivation techniques in order to maximize employee productivity and satisfaction of direct reports.
  • Effectively schedule all front of house team members based on the varying occupancy levels.
  • Coordinate communication within restaurant and outlets.
  • Provide leadership and direction in the development of team members.
  • Other duties as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
  • 3 years of previous experience in the Food and Beverage industry required. Previous Management experience in a Restaurant setting, multi units, hotel is preferred.
  • College degree is preferred. Bachelor of Science degree in hotel/restaurant management is desirable. Practical experience and education will be considered as an alternative.
  • Must exemplify a positive, professional demeanor, effective communicator.
  • Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to give full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to listen effectively, to speak and write English clearly.
  • Thorough organization and time management skills to complete tasks efficiently and timely.
  • Have knowledge of hotel food and beverage service operations. Working knowledge of alcohol service programs, cocktails, beer, wine knowledge.
  • Experience with three meal period restaurant, multi units to include 24 hour in room dining and coffee shop.
  • Executing high quality food, beverage and a positive overall dining experience. 
  • Ability to multi task based on levels of business in the food and beverage operations to include room service and coffee bar.
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT
  • Position requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping, twisting, lifting products and supplies weighing 50 pounds, and repetitive hand and wrist motion.
  • Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.
  • Work with hot, cold, and hazardous equipment as well as operates phones, computers, fax machines, copiers, and other office equipment.
