Description Vitalant is seeking a Sr. Director, National Quality to make a vital impact through support and guidance across enterprise functional areas. The Sr. Director, National Quality will steer policy and procedural adjustments to synchronize with evolving industry standards, regulations, and optimal process frameworks. Offering specialized knowledge and counsel, the Sr. Director, National Quality will provide consultation, coaching, and direction to functional leaders on compliance and quality matters, while overseeing a team of quality professionals serving as functional experts. This is a hybrid position, working on site 3 days a week and from a home office 2 days a week. Key Responsibilities:
Directs the investigation and evaluation process for non-conforming events, making final decisions and assessing impacts on external customers. Coordinates escalation calls and investigations for large-scale non-conformities, maintaining metrics and recommending process improvements based on trends.
Collaborates with functional colleagues to strategically implement new processes to meet criteria and timelines.
Oversees the development of responses to external agencies for system issues, ensuring timeliness and appropriateness of corrective actions.
Analyzes data to identify and monitor problem areas, presenting findings to management and participating in performance improvement initiatives.
Implements and oversees the deviation management system, providing direction to staff and ensuring timely processing and submission of deviation reports.
Assists in developing and implementing the strategic plan, providing direction on goal setting.
Acts as Privacy Coordinator, handling routine issues and serving as the primary communications liaison with the Privacy Officer, Legal Department, and Security Officer.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree required
6 years related experience in a regulated industry required, to include:
3 years supervisory experience
4 years experience in quality, regulatory, or auditing
Certification as a Medical Technologist or Specialist in Blood Banking (SBB) or RN license preferred
CMQOE and/or RA certification preferred
Knowledge of local, state, national, and international regulations as they relate to the blood industry, quality, and manufacturing activities required
