Title: Dev/Research Engineer

Location: Mossville, IL - Onsite

Position's Contributions to Work Group:

• Analysis of aftertreatment capability and sizing trade-offs. Simulation of catalyst performance and understanding of diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) and engine system performance. This individual will be a point of contact for aftertreatment test instruction, project plan status, results, and next steps.

Job Duties:

• Review test cell data and ensure no issues with Aftertreatment or performance shift.
• Ensure all cell hardware is accounted for, current and future programs. Make sure they are tracked properly electronically to accumulate hours.
• Run simulations to ensure catalyst performance meets program needs.
• Perform analysis for new programs on total catalyst volume needed to meet required emissions
• Troubleshoot and fix aftertreatment related issues/codes in test cell, especially during install
• Create aftertreatment related diagnostic maps and simulate the trip
• Gather test cell data for boundary conditions hardware will undergo while testing/out in application and for emission cycles.

Education & Experience Required:

• Bachelor's degree in an accredited Engineering, Material Science, Chemistry or related curriculum and 2-5 years of progressive work experience

Technical Skills:

• Test Experience
• MATLAB and/or Python analysis and modeling for engine and/or aftertreatment performance

• Proficiency in DatK and Canape
• Excellent analytical skills
• Experience with engine and/or aftertreatment performance data reduction and analysis.
• Strong understanding of engine and aftertreatment systems.
• Ability to draw conclusions from analysis and make decisions
