Job Overview:
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Personal Care Assistants. As a Personal Care Assistant, you will provide essential support and assistance to individuals in need of personal care services. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of others.
Responsibilities:
- Assist clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
- Administer medications as prescribed by healthcare professionals
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding
- Perform light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Monitor and document client's health status and report any changes to the appropriate healthcare professionals
- Implement behavior management techniques as directed by supervisors
- Support clients in maintaining their independence and promoting their rights
- Lift and transfer clients using proper body mechanics and assistive devices as needed
Experience:
- Previous experience in personal care or related field is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of first aid procedures and ability to respond in emergency situations
- Familiarity with resident rights and ability to advocate for clients' needs
- Ability to maintain a clean and organized living space for clients
- Experience in direct support or social work is a plus
- Comfortable with lifting and assisting clients with mobility needs
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures is desirable
- Experience in senior care is beneficial
