Key Accountabilities: 

A Project Engineer applies technical expertise, organization skills, and communication skills to implement solutions that strengthen the reliability, efficiency, and performance of client systems. It is critical that Project Engineers be motivated and able to organize themselves along (and others) to drive implementations and migrations to completion.

This role is responsible for the architecture and implementation of reliable solutions that improve the integrity of the existing infrastructure\workflows as well as enhance our client’s ability to improve their business by leveraging technology. A Project Engineer works effectively in a team to collaborate with IT peers across the organization and deliver results.

Responsibilities 

• Organizing and leading in the design, testing, evaluation, implementation, and support for multiple complex platforms of large size and complexity (hardware, operating systems, software, systems tools and IT processes). 

• Consult with other business units and vendors (e.g., Help Desk, Operations, and Procurement teams) to configure platforms for product installation. 
• Ensure platforms/systems conform to established enterprise/industry standards (systems management, security, operating systems, etc.) and reference models. 
• Architect, implement, document technology and processes at enterprise standards
• Serve as a point of escalation, providing technical support, as needed, to Project colleagues and Help Desk technicians

Technical Prowess 

• All core Microsoft Technologies including Windows Server (2003-2022), Microsoft Exchange (2003-2019 and Office 365), SQL Server (2000-2019). 
• Proficiency with firewalls, switches, and Wi-Fi controllers from various manufacturers.  
• Well-rounded knowledge of networking (LAN, WAN, VMPLS, VLAN, Routing, Firewalls, etc.)
• Experience with Virtual platforms (Hyper-V & VMware)
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS)
• Experience with cloud solutions (Office 365, Google Workspaces)
• Experience in migrating email between different platforms (cloud or on-prem)
• Experience in migrating data between different platforms (cloud or on-prem)
• Ability to think critically and troubleshoot your way through technical issues. 
• Management of clustered environments. 
• Well-rounded knowledge of storage solutions (MD, Compellent, HP, Nimble, QNAP, etc.).
• Maintenance of virtualization technologies such as Hyper-V and VMWare. 
• VOIP troubleshooting and maintenance. 
• Will require (as needed) on-site visits, after hours\weekend work, and domestic traveling.

Experience & Education 

• 5 years relevant technical experience.  

• The knowledge, skills, and abilities, typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor’s degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
