Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Underwriting & Technical Operations Director to play a pivotal role in enhancing our platform's capabilities. The ideal candidate will contribute to program development, overseeing the configuration of rate/quote/bind/issuance systems, and fortifying support processes for individual policy transactions. Additionally, this role will encompass responsibilities typical of an Information Systems Specialist within an insurance setting. Position Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with IT teams and stakeholders to assess information system requirements and propose efficient solutions in line with insurance industry standards.
• Design, implement, and maintain information systems, ensuring data integrity, security, and compliance with regulatory standards where applicable.
• Manage and troubleshoot system-related issues, offering technical support to users, and overseeing system upgrades or modifications to optimize performance.
• Conduct regular audits and assessments of information systems to identify vulnerabilities and implement appropriate security measures.
• Collaborate with Program Managers and underwriters evolve and maintain the rate, quote, bind, and policy issuance systems for both existing and prospective programs.
• Facilitate a seamless transition of programs from acquired companies by collaborating with technical and underwriting teams to integrate them into the ISC platform.
• Lead and manage support resources, augmenting platform procedures for pre & post-bind activities, encompassing:
  • Endorsements processing
  • Policy/invoice validation
  • Ensuring audit file completeness
  • Collaboration with the accounting department on Premium Finance/Accounts Payable processes
  • Bordereau delivery and automation
  • Overseeing inspections
  • Managing surplus lines filing (collaborating with vendors)

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in commercial lines underwriting.
• Proficiency in configuring and updating insurance policy administration systems, preferably with MGA Systems experience (minimum 5 years)
• Proficient in MS Office, particularly MS Excel
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to independently drive projects and tasks
• Demonstrated experience in managing teams effectively
• Expertise in information systems design, implementation, security, and troubleshooting within the insurance industry.
