Integrated Performance Consultants is Hiring a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Grade I or Grade II Near San Diego, CA

Grade I starts at $33.91 - $36.03 per hour ($70,540 – $74,948 annually). Grade II starts at $38.66 - $41.08 per hour ($80,412 – $85,436 annually).

Current California Grade I or Grade II Wastewater Certification is required.

IPC offers a unique work experience with multiple job sites where employees have the opportunity to master a variety of skills. You will work at multiple locations and facilities, learning all levels of field operations, including ground-up construction, operations, PLC programming, and building and designing control panels, piping and electrical, and SCADA Systems.

As a Grade I/Grade II operator you will play a major role in the successful operation of Advanced On-Site Wastewater Treatment Systems, On-Site Wastewater Treatment Systems, Membrane BioReactors, Automation, Computerization, and Troubleshooting.

IPC provides training and encourages certification for all Grade level operators. You will receive in-person, hands-on, training from certified operators.

Job Description

The Wastewater O&M Specialist I/II performs a variety of tasks related to the operation and maintenance of a wastewater treatment plant, under the direct supervision of a certified wastewater treatment operator.

Essential Functions

  • Understands plant functions, plant layouts, SCADA/HMI.
  • Conducts treatment process control sampling, testing, and recording process tests.
  • Provides general maintenance and repairs of facilities and equipment.
  • Inspects and maintains process equipment.
  • Records meters and gauge readings.
  • Identifies and corrects equipment malfunctions.
  • Assists in training and developing employees in performing preventative maintenance and routine service of equipment.
  • Provides detailed reports.

Competencies

  • Skilled in mechanical repairs, methods, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Skilled in communicating effectively under normal and emergency conditions.
  • Proficient in the use of power tools.
  • Basic understanding of chemistry.
  • Proficient in Windows, Gmail, and Google Drive.
  • Proficient in verbal and written English communications.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

These demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The work is regularly performed both inside and outside in seasonal climates and weather conditions. Exposure to uneven ground, heights, and extremes in temperature, humidity, or wetness may be encountered. Exposure to excessive noise, biohazards, dust, gas, fumes, or chemicals may be encountered. The employee will be required to wear and use the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and other safety equipment/apparel as required, but not limited to, OSHA standards.

While performing the duties of the job, the employee is required to sit, stand, walk, and bend; occasionally squat, climb, kneel, twist; repeated hand grasping, fine manipulation, push and pulling, reaching, and keyboarding with both hands.

The employee must be physically able to routinely lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds, and occasionally 100 pounds with assistance.

The employee must be able to proficiently swim without fear of large water tanks or holding areas.

Position Type & Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position and hours of work and days are set upon hire. Evening, weekend, and holiday work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel

This position requires the ability to drive all company vehicles without limitations; including the ability to read a map or obtain driving directions independently and sit for extended periods of time driving long distances (up to 300 miles a day). The employee may also be required to pick up and deliver parts, packages, and equipment, or transport samples from client locations to laboratories.

Licenses and Certifications

Must have a valid Class C California driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.

Must have a current California Grade III Wastewater Certification
