Integrated Performance Consultants is Hiring a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Near Malibu, CA

Starting at $26.77 - $29.03 per hour.
IPC is looking for a Wastewater Treatment Plant team member who is interested in beginning a career in wastewater treatment. Prior experience is not necessary, but we do require mechanical experience and an understanding of mechanical reasoning and concepts.
We offer a unique work experience in a friendly team environment. Our employees work alongside and learn from SWRCB Certified Operators including one of the founders of the company, a Grade V operator. Each job site is different, giving employees the opportunity to master a variety of skills.
You will work at many locations and facilities, learning all levels of field operations, including ground-up construction, operations, PLC programming, and building and designing control panels, piping and electrical, and SCADA Systems. You will work on private and government jobs. In addition, you will learn the practical and scientific processes involved in successfully running and operating Advanced On-Site Wastewater Treatment Systems, On-Site Wastewater Treatment Systems, Membrane BioReactors, Automation and Computerization and Troubleshooting.

Job Description
Summary/Objective
$55,689 - $60,377 a year
The Wastewater O&M Specialist Trainee performs a wide variety of routine tasks related to the operation and maintenance of a wastewater treatment plant, under the direct supervision of a certified wastewater treatment operator.
You will work with and learn from one of the founders of the company, Ric Vardel, who has distinguished technical and project management experience supporting complex wastewater projects. Mr. Vardel has the highest State of California Mandatory Wastewater Treatment Plant Certification, Grade V
Essential Functions

  • Conduct treatment process control sampling, testing, and recording process tests
  • Provides general maintenance and repair
  • Inspect process equipment according to established procedures
  • Record meters and gauge readings
  • Identify and correct equipment malfunctions and assist with the construction of new facilities
  • Provides detailed reports to a supervisor or manager
  • Must be able to work unimpaired as this is a safety-sensitive position

Work Environment
This job operates in outdoor and indoor environments. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, smartphones, and printers.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
The work is regularly performed both inside and outside in seasonal climate and weather conditions. Exposure to uneven ground, heights, and extremes in temperature, humidity or wetness may be encountered. Exposure to excessive noise, biohazards, dust, gas, fumes, or chemicals may be encountered. The employee will be required to wear and/or use the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and other safety equipment/apparel as required, but not limited to, OSHA standards.
While performing the duties of the job, the employee is required to sit, stand, walk, and bend; occasionally squat, climb, kneel, twist; repeated hand grasping, fine manipulation, push and pulling, reaching, and keyboarding with both hands.
The employee must be physically able to routinely lift up to (50) fifty pounds, and (100) one hundred pounds with assistance, exerting in excess of (100) one hundred pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of (50) fifty pounds of force occasionally. Additionally, the employee must be able to proficiently swim without fear of large water tanks or holding areas.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position and hours of work and days are set upon hire. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel
This position requires the ability to drive all company vehicles without limitations; including the ability to read a map or obtain driving directions independently, sit for extended periods of time driving long distances (can be up to 300 miles a day). The employee may also be required to but not limited to, assist coworkers by driving to pick up and deliver parts, transportation of samples from client locations to laboratories.
Required Education and Experiences
No previous education or experience in wastewater required. Some mechanical experience required.
Licenses and Certifications
Possession of a valid Class C California driver's license, and a satisfactory driving record.
IPC Mandatory Requirements
  • Employee will be subject drug screening at time of hire and for-cause drug screening throughout length of employment
  • Subject to background check in accordance with State, Federal, and Local Laws
  • Must pass new hire physical
  • Required to sign Non-Disclosure Agreement
