What's the opportunity?

The Associate Project Manager is responsible for supporting the administrative functions of the IT PMO organization such as project setup, resource planning, project dashboard maintenance and communication and consulting to different areas of IMS regarding PMO governance guidelines and compliance with best practices. The Associate Project Manager is also responsible for leading IT projects from initial proposal and requirements definition to planning and implementation under the guidance and mentorship of Project Managers or Senior Project Managers.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Leading and supporting administrative PMO activities including day-to-day operational activities, training, consulting, and best practices standardization.
  • Generating project reports, monitoring organization-level project and resource dashboards for accuracy and data integrity.
  • Managing small projects independently using IMS PMO standards
  • Organizing and structuring meetings, resources, and technology.
  • Preparing training materials and other information for different teams, with the goal of improving efficiency and streamlining workflows and processes.
  • Work with Project Managers to develop, drive and implement project goals.
  • Under the guidance of Project Managers, drive project delivery including resource, roadmap and budget plans, setting targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines.
  • Develop a skillset to independently make effective decisions when presented with multiple options for how to make progress with the project and how to delegate tasks to employees best positioned to complete them.
  • Communicate with business stakeholders and project sponsors to keep the projects aligned with their goals.

The Skills and Experience you have

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Administration, Business Management or related areas.
  • Minimum of 2 year of hands-on experience in project-centric environment
  • Experience organizing and conducting consulting and training sessions.
  • Microsoft Office software proficiency
  • Strong organizational, time-management and analytical skills
  • Critical thinking, decision-making and problem-solving skills including ability to recognize risks and issues and initiate escalation and mitigation actions
  • Self-directed, adaptable attitude with strong work ethic and ability to multi-task while accommodating shifting priorities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to effectively craft and deliver key messages to all levels of the organizations in both formal and informal setting
  • Must be a team player

Desired:

  • Proven experience eliciting & developing requirements, or coordinating / managing projects
  • Previous experience with Jira or similar tools
  • Previous Agile / Scrum environment exposure
  • Previous Waterfall environment exposure
