Integrated Laboratory Providers (ILP) is Hiring a Laboratory Technician Near Madison, MI

Integrated Laboratory Providers is looking for an laboratory technician in a Toxicology lab that will be responsible for processing specimens daily. The lab technician needs to be efficient and able to pay attention to details. Lab technician is responsible for the accuracy of the samples within a timely manner.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelors of Science Degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, or a related field. Preferred candidates will have previous laboratory experience. Must be highly motivated and detail-oriented, demonstrate effective time-management skills, as well as have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Pour, prepare, and evaluate patient specimens for analysis and perform technical procedures with accuracy and precision, meeting the standards of all accrediting/regulatory agencies in a timely manner
  • Load specimen on instrumentation
  • Operate laboratory instruments and equipment and perform equipment maintenance according to the laboratory's standard operating procedures
  • Observe established safety guidelines and maintains cleanliness of the laboratory
  • Keep a meticulous and organized record of specimens, tests, instrument logs, and technical analyses
  • Participates in activities required to support all necessary licensure for the clinical laboratory, including quality management functions and on-site inspections of the laboratory.
  • Responsible for maintaining updated understanding and knowledge of the methods employed in the laboratory
  • Consult with management on better operational procedures to improve overall efficiency and product yields.
  • Accurately document and maintain all records for equipment and instruments.
  • Understand and follow proper laboratory safety protocols for handling chemicals and biological fluids, including wearing proper protective equipment.
  • Adhere to HIPAA regulations concerning the confidentiality of patient information.
  • Accession and aliquot patient samples following laboratory protocols.
  • Become familiar with the laboratory information management system and enter patient demographics without errors.
  • Properly prepare reagents and solutions.
  • Work well as a team with other laboratory staff and management.
  • Inform supervisors of improper lab practices or errors.
  • Perform any additional duties required of this position as new methods and procedures are developed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $26.00 per hour
