INTEGRATED CONSTRUCTION is Hiring a Project Accountant Near Jacksonville, FL

Position Summary: 
Responsible for reviewing and verifying accounting invoices and purchase orders, computing discounts, verifying GL coding, preparing vouchers, reconciling vendor statements, and issuing checks for payment. Prepares accounts payable register and reports, while working to facilitate the completion of the company’s financial objectives. Exercises discretion and judgment as to the approval and verification of accounting matters and develops work routines with minimal supervision. 
Essential Responsibilities: 
  • Compile, review and track compliance docs including NTO notices, insurance certificates & lien waivers for multiple projects. Provide subs and vendors COI required language and coverage amounts as well as request new/renewed or corrected as needed.
  • Track preliminary lien notices and ensure proper lien releases are obtained from vendors prior to payment.
  • Reconciles accounting records for accounts payable invoices, deposits, open payables, and subcontractor bills.
  • Review incoming invoices, check requests, credit card charges, and accompanying documentation for accuracy and proper authorization and approval. 
  • Review and enter vendor invoices, credit card charges, and subcontractor bills in accounting software, and review the data entry for accuracy and verify proper department categories. 
  • Responsible for timely owner contract billings, including compiling all required subcontractor/vendor documentation based on the owner’s contract.
  • Cut checks to subs/vendors/suppliers as needed.
  • Act as primary accounting contact for Project Managers providing communication and support.
Additional Functions: 
  • Maintain master vendor list verifying new vendors are properly authorized and all required documents are on file. 
  • Identify expenditures where an invoice has not been submitted for processing. 
  • Reconcile open payables after each check run. 
  • Match voucher portion of A/P checks with bills, obtain authorized signatures and file voucher portion in designated areas within the department. 
  • Perform maintenance of accounting records files for accounts payable vouchers.
  • Willing to assist with various department assignments/projects as needed. 
Education/Experience Requirements: 
  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field preferred. 
  • Construction accounting experience and/or training preferred.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of related training or experience in accounts payable is preferred. 
  • SAGE Accounting Software experience preferred.
  • Strong work ethic and focus on maintaining the accuracy and integrity of accounts.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Positive, flexible, fast learner with excellent communication skills.
Physical Requirements: 
This position requires long hours sitting and using office equipment, including telephones and computers and may also require some light lifting of files and materials and carrying checks, mail, and other documentation to different departments from time to time. 
The position may also involve some repetitive motions of the hands, wrists, and elbows.
