TITLE : Auto Booth Operator
SUMMARY : Operating the prefinish auto booth ensuring the quantity, quality, and efficiency of products for each order.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Operating the Auto booth
Reading packing slips to see colors and quantities of products to be sprayed and planning the most efficient order to run in.
Setting up booth by adjusting spray heads, conveyor guides, and sensors as needed to get proper coverage for each size of materials.
Ensuring exhaust fans are operating and properly removes mist and vapors from area.
Using hand sprayer to get proper coverage of coating on sides and ends of material before running through Autoline.
Pushing boards onto conveyor, examining quality of material before entering and after exiting the spray booth.
Ensuring products get proper time in oven and under fans / AC to get cure times required for packaging.
Using hand sprayer to coat all accessories needed to fulfill order in that color if not already designated to manual spray booth.
Rerunning material that needs two coats or to refinish areas of poor coverage.
Operating pump station
Gathering paint needed to run through booth and ensuring match to order.
Following FBDs SOP on cycling paint into line.
Adding reclaimed paint back into containers according to FBDs SOP.
Cycling paint out of line once that color is finished per FBDs SOP.
Returning unused or reclaimed paint to proper locations.
Booth cleaning
At end of day and between certain color changes it will be required to clean out the spray to booth to prevent buildup of paint of cross contamination of different colors and shades.
After the lines have been flushed, remove spray heads and clean heads, inserts, and hoses.
Remove traps and trays from spray booth and replace them with clean ones once booth cleaning is complete.
Remove all buildup of paint overspray on interior walls, conveyors, rollers, and other crevices.
Replace filters for exhaust per PM schedule.
Replace traps, trays, and spray head components prior to the next run.
Communication & Paperwork
Communicating with material stackers and packagers on run orders, number of coatings, and quality checks.
Giving material stackers and packagers proper paperwork before runs to ensure quantities and items are stacked and packaged per SOPs.
Placing packing slips in proper locations once all line items are completed for the auto booth for that color and or job.
Communicating with the Shipping Manager and or Production Manager when the job is complete or if it cannot be completed as required because of material shortages or lack of paint.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Using forklift to gather materials needed if no other associates are available to assist.
Hand spraying in manual booth when necessary or as required due to staffing shortages.
Swapping out wastewater with fresh water when other associates are no one is available to assist.
Cleaning containers, traps, and trays in the wash bay when no one is available to assist.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Desired Education and Experience
High School diploma or equivalent
Experience in painting with sprayers
Experience reading and understanding packing slips.
Experience in cycling paint through pumps.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of proper coating of materials.
Ability to visually inspect coating to meet specs on paint thickness.
Communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing.
Able to follow through on tasks, problem solve, pay close attention to detail.
Plan and prioritize and complete a variety of orders within deadlines.
Able to deal with a variety of people and personalities.
Work as a team player, understand the importance of supporting management and coworkers.
Ability to perform work independently and work under supervision.
Ability to lead others.
Basic knowledge of MS Word.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS NECESSARY TO PERFORM THIS JOB
Ability to safely enter, exit, and drive a forklift multiple times in a shift.
Stand 10 hours.
Carry / lift up to 75 lbs.
Push / pull 1-25 lbs.
Stoop / bend
Twist / turn
Reach above shoulders.
Work in heat

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Primarily work in an indoor environment. There is exposure to dirt, dust, large and small machine noise, and heat.
Hours / Pay
Monday-Thursday 4 pm - 2 : 30 am
Starting $22 / hr
Must be able to pass drug screen and background check.
