Medical Assistant Instructor (Full-Time)

The Medical Assistant Instructor delivers engaging content to promote learning, skill development, and motivation, guiding students toward their educational and healthcare career goals. The program adopts a hybrid instructional delivery model, combining in-person, on-campus teaching methods with an innovative distance learning (IDL) framework to enhance educational flexibility and accessibility. This role ensures an inspiring learning environment for future Professional Medical Assistant (PMA) graduates. This position reports to the Director of Education.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Teach the depth and scope class material as outlined in the syllabus and approved course outline.
• Help maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
• Relate instruction to careers and employer expectations.
• Prepare and grade examinations based upon course objectives.
• Administer examinations according to schedule announced to students in course outline.
• Work creatively to discourage student withdrawal in all classes taught.
• Begin class at the designated time and provide a full period of instruction for the class period involved.
• Leaves the classroom or laboratory clean, organized, and ready for the module.
• Submit, at designated time, final grades for all students and maintain weekly grade sheets.
• Accurately enter attendance on the attendance roster indicating a student's presence in their class.
• Call all students who are absent and report pertinent information to the Student Success Leader.
• Attend communication meetings, faculty meetings, in-service sessions, student orientation, graduation, and other school events as required by the school.
• Tutor and mentor students who are having difficulty with course material.
• Participate in cirruculum review and lesson planning with the Allied Health Team.
• Patricipate in Teacher Effectiveness Trainings and other professional developement as assigned by the Director of Education.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• The Instructor shall demonstrate experience and education as required by the State Regulatory Agency where the school presides and in accordance with the guidelines established by the schools accrediting body for the coursework that the instructor is teaching.
• Proficiency in using educational technology tools, including Learning Management Systems (LMS).
• Experience working in a hospital, public health, or critical care setting preferred.
• Prior experience in higher education teaching or instructional support is desirable.
