Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team. As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for our employees. This is a vital role within our organization, as you will play a key role in maintaining employee satisfaction by ensuring accurate and timely payment of wages.
Responsibilities:
- Process payroll for employees using various payroll software systems such as APD Workforce Now
- Calculate and process employee wages, deductions, and benefits accurately and in compliance with company policies and applicable laws
- Maintain accurate records of employee attendance, leave balances, and other relevant payroll information
- Prepare and distribute paychecks or direct deposits to employees on a regular basis
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters in a timely and professional manner
- Collaborate with HR department to ensure accurate employee data is maintained in the payroll system
- Assist in the preparation of payroll reports for management as needed
- Stay up-to-date with changes in governmental accounting regulations and ensure compliance with all relevant laws
Experience:
- Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or similar role
- Strong knowledge of payroll processes, including benefits administration and payroll management
- Proficient in using payroll software systems such as Ceridian, Workday, etc.
- Familiarity with financial concepts and double-entry bookkeeping
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee information
