Job Title: Desktop Support Specialist

Location: Oak Brook, IL 60523 onsite daily

I am looking for a Desktop Support Specialist that has great customer-facing skills to join our team. Under the direction of the IT Manager / Systems Administrator you will perform regular maintenance tasks apply operating system patches and updates, monitor system performance, and troubleshoot issues, assist in managing user accounts, permissions, and access to systems and data.

The Desktop Support Specialist must have experience with desktop administration in a Windows v10-v11 environment, have O365 experience and be familiar with common desktop applications and tools.

The ideal candidate will have 4 years of experience in providing technical support for desktop and laptop computers, printers, mobile devices, and other peripherals. This role will be responsible for the upkeep, configuration, and operation of computer systems, laptops, and peripherals within the organization. This person will install, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools.

OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide technical support for desktop and laptop computers, printers, mobile devices, and other peripherals.
  • Provide training for users on proper usage of desktop equipment and software
  • Provide on-site and remote support for software applications and computer operating systems such as Windows v10- 11, MS Office Suite, O365, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, GP Dynamics, SharePoint Online, and other Web Applications.
  • Create and maintain user accounts, permissions, and access rights in Active Directory, Azure Active Directory.
  • Troubleshoot, configure and upgrade hardware and software, smartphones, and peripherals for end users.
  • Manage device security, including monitoring security logs for intrusions or attempted breaches.
  • Install and configure software applications and updates.
  • Perform regular hardware and software upgrades and maintenance as needed.
  • Assist with inventory management of IT equipment.
  • Collaborate with the IT Manager to develop policies and procedures for IT Security and data protection.
  • Create and update technical documentation.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • CompTIA A Cert, Network , Security , MCSA WIN10, MCSE Desktop Infrastructure and 4 years of experience in desktop support or a related field.
  • Minimally a High School degree and some college or associate degree or certification
  • Technical knowledge of desktop operating systems (Windows 10, macOS), Microsoft Office suite, and common business applications.
  • Experience with remote support tools such as Remote Desktop, TeamViewer, or LogMeIn.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to interact with end-users in a professional and courteous manner using ZenDesk or other ticketing tools.
