HOW YOU WILL SOAR:

The Cloud Engineering Manager will report to the Sr. Manager of Cloud Engineering in the Technology Department. This role is responsible for managing and supporting the public and private cloud services and network infrastructures, overseeing the deployment and configuration of all servers and peripherals and the overall Technology Platform Architecture. In addition, this role will maintain and support all server, cloud solutions and operating systems globally across all data center platforms and supported locations. Management and support of critical application infrastructures is also an intrinsic function.

This role will contribute to and define the shape of the underlying Technical Architecture with significant interaction, communication and follow-up with the Business being a fundamental responsibility.

  • Management of all existing network, server and communication systems

  • Participation in the design and execution of IT related projects

  • Plan, design, engineer, implement, analyze capacity and support of networks and hardware configurations

  • Develop options, recommendations and associated cost/benefits, and implement cost effective solutions

  • Develop and maintain tools and processes that automate technical systems for teams

  • Promote and implement a culture of DevOps philosophy.

  • Research, evaluate, and recommend new tools and technologies

  • Drive excellent client service communication, response and resolution

  • Manage and ensure effectiveness of security solutions, including firewalls, anti-virus solutions, and monitoring and intrusion detection systems

  • Recommend alterations and enhancements to improve quality of products and/or procedures

  • Coordinate disaster recovery testing activities and drive remediation

  • Effectively manage 3rd party vendor relationships

  • Drive IT controls, tracking and reporting processes as they are implemented across IT

  • Drive knowledge, component and service sharing within the team and across the other disciplines within IT

  • Improve the stability and resiliency of all relevant production processes, as well as, instituting a robust support model addressing process/application failures. Ensure that a suite of operational metrics are gathered reflecting progress

  • Directly manage multiple concurrent projects, both simple and extremely complex

  • Support and participate in the overall IT Governance structure, with specific emphasis on Server and Application Infrastructure, Production Management and Release Control, IT Security, Quality/Testing Management and firm-wide Data Governance

  • Focus on the implementation of cost-effective, extensible and supportable solutions (whether 3rd party or bespoke)

  • Stay abreast of project status and issues

  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams of clients, our businesses, developers, support, and outside vendors

  • Establish and communicate a vision for strategic information, technical, solutions and process architectures. Ensure that it reflects the required flexibility to adapt to constantly evolving business requirements

  • Facilitate the implementation and support of an overall application architecture which is fit for business purpose and cost effective. This spans both Development and Production environments

  • Analyze current and emerging industry trends and probable outcomes from vendors and information sources and assess impact on our Technology landscape

  • Work with internal sales and external clients to assess scalable process and data integration solutions

  • Work closely with Audit and the Business to support the provision of data sets and information required by external audit, external client due diligence and internal compliance

  • Other duties as assigned

IF YOU HAVE SOME OR ALL OF THE FOLLOWING, APPLY:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field

  • 7-10 years of experience in Information Technology

  • 5 years’ experience in network engineering, systems administration and application support

  • 1 - 3 year of leadership experience

  • Technical expertise in system administration design, engineering, implementation and operations

  • Experience with the architecture, implementation, functional enhancement, migration and support of third party hosted cloud, private cloud and hybrid solutions

  • In-depth knowledge of virtualization tools, VMware and/or Hyper-V

  • In-depth knowledge and implementation of various Cloud, Colocation and Hybrid Cloud operating models

  • Excellent project management and organizational skills

  • Ability to successfully function independently and as a team member

  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and decision-making ability

  • Proven leadership and communication skills

  • Strong technical and support process background

  • Senior level technical skills in networking, server administration, project management, infrastructure engineering, security management, vendor management and client relationship building

  • Excellent Audit and Audit Management skills

  • Proven Vendor Management skills

  • Experience with ITIL, Cobit, TOGAF a plus

  • Thorough knowledge of IT Security
