Software Quality Engineer

We are seeking a Software Quality Engineer to join our team.

This position is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of software products within an Agile Team. This role is also responsible for designing, executing, and reporting on various tests, such as functional, exploratory, integration, performance, usability, security, and accessibility. Collaborates with developers, analysts, and other stakeholders to assess quality, identify risks, improve processes, and deliver high-value solutions to business partners and clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Defines holistic quality approaches that enable the whole team to pursue efficiency and excellence.
  • Collaborates with product owners, developers, and Qualty Engineer (QE) leads to define user story test strategies and actionable acceptance criteria.
  • Drives testability, measures test coverage, develops impactful automation, and promotes best practices in all stages of the software development process.
  • Develops, maintains, and executes automated and manual test cases, ensuring comprehensive test coverage.
  • Utilizes technical expertise in testing backend components such as Web Services, Database integrations, and APIs. 
  • Champions and brings a quality-first strategy.
  • Identifies and communicates risks proactively.
  • Investigates and reproduces complex defects, working closely with developers and product owner to facilitate resolution and completing root cause analysis.
  • Acts as a subject matter expert (SME) of the product portfolio through continuous training.
  • Innovates and improves testing processes. 

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related discipline, or equivalent work experience is required. Bachelor’s Degree is preferred. 
  • Three to five years of software testing experience is required.
  • Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines is preferred. 
  • Prior experience working in the human resources or payroll industries is preferred.
  • Proficiency in test automation tools and frameworks, as well as source control tools.
  • Strong knowledge of software development methodologies.
  • Familiarity with bug tracking and test management tools.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality standards.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced dynamic environment and prioritize workload and deliverables within schedule constraints to deliver results.
  • Familiarity with one or more of the following: Azure DevOps, Visual Studio, Git, Selenium, Agile methodology, C#, or Java.

Insperity provides a reasonable range of minimum compensation. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. The range of starting pay for this role is $64,500 - $98,500.
